Welcome to our area specifically written for Educational Institutions.  This page should help you access the information which is most appropriate to you when considering the value of volunteering to your student community and to yourself.

A definite first port of call is our guide “Raising the Potential”.  This is a collection of research which outlines the benefits of volunteering to the student and to the educational institution.  

You may also want to read our research “A Catalyst for Change”.  This is a few years old now but is still fairly accurate when detailing the varied levels of volunteering provision in different Higher Education Institutions.

If you are from a Further Education Institution you may be interested to know that SVS is currently helping the Scottish Further Education Unit to undertake a similar piece of research in FE and this should be available shortly.
