Exciting news from Renfrewshire as a partnership project between the local Volunteer Centre, the University of West Scotland and Reid Kerr College gets underway. This three year project will develop student volunteering both within the educational institution environment and within the local community in the Renfrewshire area. The project was officially launched on June 4th. Speaking as part of an interview for a video to mark the launch, Phyl Meyer, SVS Chair, said "SVS is very excited to see the development of this local project, which will hopefully lead the way for future developments elesewhere across Scotland". The project proposal was based in part on the SVS publication "Raising the Potential" which brought together a wide range of existing research to make a clear and concise case for investment in student volunteering development.
